- "Diane has been employed as Canteen Manager at Edithvale
Primary School for almost 5 years. During this time she
has done an exceptional job of operating and maintaining
our school canteen to a very high standard, meeting all
government, health department and DEECD requirements."
- "Diane regularly updates the pricelists and items
available at the canteen and has worked very hard to construct
a menu of healthy alternatives; eliminating sweets and foods
high in fats and preservatives. She engages the interest
of the children with names such as 'The Edithvale Wrap'
(Tuna, Mayo, Carrot). 'Winter and Summer meal deals' are
also now a great favourite and also continue to promote
'healthy eating'."
- "Diane is actively involved in the organisation of
the canteen and we recently sought her input into improvements
of the canteen. We have just installed new non-slip vinyl
flooring with 'coving' along the edges, rather than 'skirting'
for improved hygiene; and will shortly upgrade the ventilation,
install new sinks and bench-tops and a new secure roller
door. Diane was consulted on all of these improvements and
we know that they will make her work easier."
- "She regularly holds 'special lunch days' for students
and staff which she organises herself, doing all of the
paperwork and collection of money; as well as the purchase
and preparation of food; her specialty is 'Sushi Day' -
which we all love!"
- "Diane runs fundraisers from time to time, which benefit
the students, such as the recent 'lunch bag' drive."
- "She is also actively involved in school organisation
in other ways, such as being the co-ordinator of the Year
6 Graduation Committee, liaising with the Grade 6 students,
parents and staff, helping them to prepare for a memorable
graduation celebration."
- "Diane is always welcoming; she knows all the students
by name as well as many of their parents. These qualities,
along with her smile and friendliness, ensure that she always
has support from the parents in filling the canteen roster
each week, which in turn ensures that pur canteen runs very
smoothly and professionally at all times."
- "Diane has become an integral part of our school
community and her efforts are a wonderful contribution towards
making our school a great place to be."
- Denise Webster, Principal
- Sandie Wishart, Business Manager
