"I would like to nominate Annie Loft from Koo Wee Rup
Secondary College for Canteen Assistant of the Year (paid
position).
Annie has worked with me at the canteen for about 9 years.
She started off doing canteen duty when her children were
at the school and continued on when the position became available.
Annie and I work really well together, always thinking what
has to be done to get things out on time. We also know if
one has not got time to do a job, the other person always
has it done on time even though the other person has not said.
Even when we do not have a volunteer mother and we have a
big day and go home tired, there are no complaints - she just
gets on with the job. We all know that to make things work
well in a canteen we put in extra time, and Annie is no exception.
She is always helping other staff and students as well, even
picking up the mail for the office staff.
With us now doing a lot of our own cooking, Annie has started
making her famous Vegi Slice and making California rolls with
the sushi maker and this means more work for her. But you
know she really loves doing it when the staff and students
say they really love them and you are doing a good job.
Another thing the students and staff really love is when
asked "how are you today", her reply is "fully
sic" which we all get a laugh out of.
I have great pleasure in recommending Annie for this nomination."
