"The Rowville Primary School community would like to
nominate Bronwyn Richards and Sue Cooke for the VSCA Primary
Manager (Paid) Award.
Sue and Bronwyn commenced their association with our school
as parents. They have been serving our school community in
their role as canteen managers for over thirteen years. They
always provide service with a smile and are constantly seeking
ways to improve and enhance the canteen menu to encourage
and support healthy eating habits.
Sue and Bronwyn approach their work with a 'can do' attitude.
They are nurturing to students and caring to staff.
This year they attended the 'Go For Your Life' professional
development session and have since made significant changes
to the canteen menu to encourage our children to eat healthy
food and promote healthy eating. The changes to the menu include
offering only wholemeal breads, removing chips, lollies and
other 'red' foods from the menu, including more green foods
such as frozen juice sticks and frozen fruit pieces. Sue and
Bronwyn are aware of the benefits of our children drinking
a lot of water so cold water is now offered at a special price.
The Rowville [Primary School] community truly appreciate
the energetic and enthusiastic way in which Sue and Bronwyn
manage our school canteen."
